The contribution of Ubuntu moral theory to Clinical Ethics Support
The following are the objective and expected outcomes of this project:
- Exploring the role of ethical theories and approaches to clinical ethics deliberations
- Analysing Ubuntu moral theory, by highlighting its key principles and implications for clinical ethics support services.
- Exploring how Ubuntu moral theory can enhance cultural sensitivity, broaden ethical analysis, and prioritise relational ethics within healthcare decision-making.
- Exploring how Ubuntu moral theory could act as a facilitator implementing clinical ethics support services in Sub-Saharan African healthcare settings to assist in addressing moral challenges, developing health policies and strategies that are ethically driven, and promoting clinical ethics education.
- Finally, this paper aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on cultural diversity and inclusivity in ethical deliberations. The findings of this study will have implications for healthcare professionals, highlighting the importance of considering diverse ethical frameworks to provide more comprehensive and culturally sensitive care.
