Health Economics

Shen Juan has gotten her PhD degree in School of Public Health, Peking University Health Science Center last year. Her major is Health Policy & Management. She has engaged in the research of health economics, maternal and child health, social determinants of heath, health equality and global health for more than six years.
She has done a series of research on China’s maternal and child health issues, around the strategies on China’s achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG4&5). Her Master’s dissertation was chosen as the only Chinese young researcher to attend the Women Deliver Conference hold in Washington D.C. in 2010.
She also focuses on China’s health reform. She has translated two books on European countries’ health reform experience from English to Chinese.
Her PhD dissertation was funded by UNICEF and National Natural Science Foundation of China. She went to 4 of the most poverty-stricken counties in China, did a household investigation to 6116 families had new-born babies in recent 5 years as the team leader, interviewed the stake-holders and obstetricians in the 4 county hospital, and got the basic data.
