Patients' Perspectives on their Participation in Clinical Trials in India
My proposed project has two specific objectives: 1) to re-examine data from 42 interviews conducted with stakeholders in India regarding their perspectives on the informed consent process and particular therapeutic misunderstanding in the Indian context, and 2) to elicit and analyze the essence of subjects’ understanding of the clinical trials process in the Indian context, with specific reference to the role of informed consent in clinical trials. To that end, I will write one paper and one research proposal during my stay at the Brocher Centre.
