Regulating fair access to antimicrobial drugs - acceptable risk trade-offs between contemporary and future people
The project will result in a substantial contribution to the applicant's PhD thesis, as well as a peer-reviewed publication in the field of Bioethics. While the thesis chapter aims to develop fundamentally, how risk trade-offs can and should influence the distribution of antibiotics from a perspective of intergenerational justice, the publication will be a condensed version of the main research findings. Contact with the journal Ethical Perspectives has already been established, and the editor has expressed interest in a paper on the proposed research project. It is also planned to further disseminate the research findings within the biomedical community. Research findings are expected to be discussed with Prof. Samia Hurst at the University of Geneva, who has expressed interest in the research project and conducted work on the appropriate use of antiretroviral therapy in the past. Furthermore, the applicant has established initial contacts at the World Health Organization in both Copenhagen and Geneva to discuss a possible presentation of research findings.
