The Ethics And Regulation Of Research With Human Subjects
Jesse Goldner received his law degree from Harvard Law School, after having received his A.B. and M.A. (psychology) from Columbia University. He currently is the John D. Valentine Professor of Law at Saint Louis University where he holds secondary appointments in the University’s School of Medicine in its Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics. He served as the initial chair of the Accreditation Committee of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) as well as on the law school Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association. Currently he serves as a public member of the board of directors of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
Professor Goldner has written in areas such as criminal law, family law, and various topics involving the intersection of law and medicine. His most recent scholarship includes a co-authored book, The Ethics And Regulation Of Research With Human Subjects (LexisNexis, 2005) and an article entitled “Regulating Conflicts of Interest in Research: The Paper Tiger Needs Real Teeth,” in the Saint Louis University Law Journal 53:1211-1252 (2009). During his 2010 stay at the Brocher Foundation he will be examining how a variety of areas in research ethics, particularly concerns about conflicts of interest, currently are being handled outside of the United States.
