Quality of Life at the end of life, Quality of Dying and Quality of Care; how do they relate? End of Life Research from medical-ethical and societal perspectives.
This study will provide insight in similarities and differences between QOL at the end of life, QOD and the influence of QOC at the end of life. The research questions for this study are: What is the relation between QOL at the end of life and QOD? To what extent is QOC related to QOL at the end of life? How do these results affect the development of the concept of outcomes in end of life care, from individual perspective as well as from ethical, medical and societal perspective? The objectives are: - To contribute to the international debate regarding QOL at the end of life, QOD and QOC - To improve the scientific knowledge about QOL at the end of life, QOD and QOC - To contribute to quality improvements in healthcare for patients at the end of life - To write a paper for a high-ranked peer reviewed international scientific journal One of the main aims of the PalTeC-H project is to compare perspectives from bereaved relatives, nurses and physicians about the same patients. Results of this comparison are expected to give more specific input for the research questions on which I would like to work in Geneva.
