Supporting healthcare workers involved in health crises response: developing and evaluating an intervention training on prioritization decisions, ethical challenges and moral stress with the aim of strengthening resilience and preparedness
The overall aim of this research project is to examine and develop psychosocial support mechanisms for HCWs confronted with morally stressful situations. This research project aims to examine interventional measures aimed at HCWs and to create, implement and evaluate an educational intervention to strengthen the work capacity and resilience of HCWs and provide them with tools to better manage moral challenges, ethical stress and other types of stress in their work.
Research questions
- Study 1: What type of multifactorial measures are in place to prevent negative consequences of moral distress and sick leave absence among HCWs involved in health crises response?
- Study 2: How valuable is a training intervention as preventive measure and support for Swedish HCWs involved in health crises response when managing morally challenging situations?
- Study 3: How valuable is a training intervention as preventive measure and support for HCWs involved in health crises response within Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, Geneva) when managing morally challenging situations?
