This two day workshop will explore the governance mechanisms of international research consortia, with a view to developing a policy which can be used by future research collaborations. It will act as a ‘proof of principle’ for the ELSI 2.0 Collaboratory, which aims to anticipate and address the ethical, legal, and social implications of international genomic research. Participants will include the leading bioethicists, lawyers, philosophers and clinicians in the field of genomics. The aim of this workshop will be to use their expertise to identify what best practice in consortia governance should be, and to prepare a publication outlining these findings.
