Overtreatment as a Crucial Ethical Issue; Exploring its Roots, Circumstances, and Outcomes in the Context of Dentistry
The project has been expected to lead into a deeper understanding of overtreatment or unnecessary treatment, mostly in the context of dental practice. We aim at exploring why health care professionals, in general, and dentists, in particular, are prone to provide unnecessary treatments, in which circumstances overtreatment is more likely to happen, and what are the actual outcomes of this issue. Based on findings of these project, we expect to reach at a normative notion, which may shed light on how we could address this critical ethical issue.
