Re-engaging ethics: Ethical concerns in engaged scholarship
Al Richmond received the Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. His career is committed to addressing health disparities among racial and ethnic populations. Richmond has helped to foster effective partnerships focused on community-identified health concerns and in developing community health leaders. He has engaged in research partnerships with academic investigators at all levels to build coalitions, disseminate health information and develop training modules. His current work is focused on creating guidelines to guide the conduct of engaged research and is informed by an array of stakeholders conducting and supporting research including academic researchers, community partners, IRB representatives, and ethicists.
